As the dust settles on Week 2 of the college football season, some teams have solidified their positions, while others have made significant leaps. Georgia and Michigan remain unshakeable, holding their ground at number 1 and number 2, respectively. Not far behind, Florida State continues to impress, retaining their spot at number 3.

Week 1 has already given us some thrilling games, outstanding individual performances, and unexpected outcomes. As the season progresses, we can only anticipate more shifts and surprises. But for now, we celebrate the teams that have earned their spots and those that have defied the odds. Here’s to another fantastic season of college football!
The top 3 teams in this week’s rankings took home conference championships, while USC fell to the Utes for the second time. Ohio St sat at home and snuck back into the top 4, and Clemson leaped over several squads following their impressive victory over the Tar Heels in the ACC Championship game.
Michigan moves to the number 1 spot in the Power Rankings for the first time all season after another domination of the Buckeyes. USC moves into the top 4 after an impressive win against Notre Dame, and Florida State rounds out the top 10.
The top 4 teams all escaped with narrow victories, while Tennessee got exposed for their lack of defense. Penn St remains my top-ranked 2-loss team as they continue to dominate everyone they’ve played with the exception of Michigan and Ohio St. USC rounds out the top 5 in this week’s Power Rankings.
There was no movement in the top 4 this week as Georgia, Michigan, Ohio St, and TCU all remained undefeated. Penn St impressed once again to become the highest-ranked 2-loss team, and USC now stands alone as the only Pac-12 team with a realistic shot at the playoff.
Georgia looked dominant while several other ranked teams escaped with hard-fought victories. LSU pulled off a miracle overtime win against Bama, and USC and UCLA managed to keep themselves in the hunt for the playoffs.
Tennessee and TCU continue to build impressive resumes, while Michigan looked sturdy and unshakeable against their in-state rival. The Buckeyes finished strong against Penn St, and Kansas St made a jaw-dropping statement against Oklahoma St to land them at number 8 in this week’s NCAA Football Power Rankings.
Clemson escaped with a narrow victory to remain undefeated, and Penn St’s dominating performance helped Michigan’s resume. Ole Miss, UCLA, and Syracuse fall from the ranks of the unbeaten, while TCU continues to rack up impressive wins.
