‘Twas the Night Before Gameday, and All Through The Big House

‘Twas the night before Gameday, all eyes on the Big House,

“I’m watching football all day tomorrow,” you kindly warn your spouse, 

The jerseys are hung in the locker room with care,

In hopes that Coach Harbaugh soon would be there.

The fans are nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of touchdowns dance in their heads,

Dressed in all maize with a Block M cap,

Up late watching highlights and then a brief fall nap,

Wake up bright and early, It’s finally Saturday, 

Brew a cup of coffee and flip between Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday,

Text some friends, check the spreads, maybe place a few bets,

For college football fans this is as good as it gets.

Noon rolls around and we flip Peacock on,

There’s JJ, Will Johnson, Blake the Great, and The Don! 

No Harbaugh in sight, but we have Jesse Minter,

Expect a heavy dose of defense, and running behind Zak Zinter.

The band plays “Hail to the Victors” in championship manner,

The players rush out of the tunnel and leap to touch the banner,

We own the Big Ten, now it’s time for a Natty too,
