While the Packers confirmed the extension, they refrained from disclosing the specifics.
An individual with knowledge of the deal later communicated to The Associated Press that Gary’s contract, extending through 2027, comprises approximately $96 million in fresh allocations combined with his 2023 salary of $10.8 million. This person opted for anonymity, citing the Packers’ discretion regarding the deal’s terms.
Gary expressed his gratitude through a post stating, “Thanks to everyone in the Green Bay Packers organization, my family, business team, NFL, friends, fans & supporters for taking the ride with me. The grind doesn’t stop. Sacrifices lead to achievable goals.”

Prior to his NFL career, Rashan Gary was a celebrated recruit, clinching the title of the number one overall high school prospect in the nation. He played for the Michigan Wolverines from 2016-18. Over the span of three seasons at Michigan, Gary participated in 34 games, starting in 21, and recorded 136 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and one forced fumble. Particularly noteworthy was his sophomore year when he amassed 65 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 11.5 tackles for loss.
Though Gary’s time at Michigan was occasionally overshadowed by discussions of his potential being underutilized within the defensive scheme of then Defensive Coordinator Don Brown, his professional achievements underscore his resilience and talent.
