Michigan Football Lands Top Running Back in the State of Ohio, Jordan Marshall

Jordan Marshall commits to Michigan

Shock waves were sent rippling across the Big 10 football recruiting landscape on Tuesday when running back Jordan Marshall committed to the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan has been making progress with several high-profile recruits lately, and many believe that Marshall could represent the first of many dominos to fall.

Jordan Marshall is unanimously considered the best running back in the state of Ohio. Rivals has him ranked as the number 55 player overall in the class of 2024. During his junior season at Moeller high school in Cincinnati, Ohio, he dazzled spectators with his quick feet, ability to make tacklers miss, and breakaway speed. He is also deceivingly tough. When watching his junior season highlights, I noticed his unique ability to lower his shoulder and gain extra yards.

The word on the street has been that Michigan’s running back coach, Mike Hart, struggles to recruit high-profile players, but the commitment of Jordan Marshall seems to suggest otherwise. Marshall, listed generously at 6’0′, is a low-to-the-ground, shifty runner. It makes sense that he would have a connection with Coach Hart, considering their similarities.

With one of the biggest recruiting visitor weekends in Ann Arbor happening just days ago, it will be interesting to see what happens next. All eyes are on 5-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, who is expected to commit by the end of the month.

The Michigan Wolverines have dominated Ohio State on the field for the past two seasons, and now the commitment of Jordan Marshall suggests that Michigan has turned the table on the Buckeyes in recruiting as well.
